Stocks fell by 6.5 percent on Wednesday
By 10:30am the main index on the Oslo Stock Exchange was down 8.5 percent, to half the all-time high reached in May 2007. News of concerted cuts in interest rates by sevral major central banks made the index bounce back to a 1 percent rise. By the end of the days trading the index had fallen by around 6.5 percent. |
